Autoimmune conditions

Autoimmune conditions can involve different health problems in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues, leading to chronic inflammation and tissue damage. These conditions can affect multiple organs and systems, and often share underlying mechanisms related to immune dysregulation.

Common autoimmune diseases include autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, coeliac disease, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, among others. Although each condition presents with different symptoms, they may coexist and share common triggers, including genetic predisposition, environmental factors, and alterations in gut microbiome and immune system.
